Frequently asked questions
Do I need an account or login?
No. Practice, games, decks, and learning records work without a Piyokey account. Optional leaderboards and achievements use Game Center on iOS or Google Play Games on Android.
Where is my learning data stored?
Practice and game records, streaks, settings, and Piyo growth are stored on your device. Deleting the app also deletes its local records, and they cannot be restored. Export any user decks you need as .piyodeck files first.
Can I use Piyokey without a Korean keyboard?
Yes. The built-in Dubeolsik keyboard supports all core learning and game flows. Your device’s Korean keyboard is optional.
Why can’t I hear audio?
Check that sound is enabled in Piyokey settings. Pronunciation prefers bundled audio and uses an on-device Korean voice if the asset cannot play. Also check device volume and audio output.
How do I stop daily reminders?
Turn reminders off in Piyokey settings, or disable Piyokey notifications in your device’s notification settings.
Why is the leaderboard unavailable?
Leaderboards are optional. Check your connection and Game Center sign-in on iOS or Google Play Games sign-in on Android. Practice and standard games remain available without it.
Why can’t I download a deck?
Check your connection and try again. Piyokey includes bundled decks, so core learning remains available offline.
Can I restore my Deck Maker purchase?
Use the same store account that made the purchase and choose Restore. App Store and Google Play purchases are managed separately and do not transfer between stores. Existing decks and free import or export remain available if the purchase cannot be confirmed.
Are .piyodeck files uploaded to a server?
No. A file you select is validated and imported on your device and is not uploaded to Piyokey. The policy of the destination applies after you export or share a file.
